Boston-based CTP expands into North Carolina

Boston-based communications agency CTP has expanded its operations to North Carolina, opening an office there this year.

CTP, which has done work for the Boston Red Sox, Eastern Bank, DraftKings, and dozens of other Boston-based and national companies, will open an office in Wilmington, North Carolina. The office opened on Feb. 1, and will be run by CTP executive creative director Grant Pace with two employees.

Pace previously owned Mercury Advertising, a Wilmington, North Carolina-based agency that was acquired by CTP in 2005, making him familiar with the North Carolina area.

“North Carolina isn’t just a place — it’s a pulse. The energy and innovation driving the state’s growth perfectly align with CTP’s core strengths,” Pace said in a statement. “We understand the needs of education, technology and financial services organizations like few others, having crafted game-changing campaigns and experiences for industry leaders throughout our history.”

The agency said that this opening is a “significant milestone” for its strategic growth plan. Since opening earlier this month, the agency has met with several prospective clients.

“The plan for the office is to use our breadth and depth of expertise in the industries that are central to the North Carolina economy, including technology, education, finance, food & beverage and tourism,” a CTP spokesperson wrote in an email.

In North Carolina, CTP has partnered with Apiture, Red Hat and Pinehurst Resort, among others.
